My Coaching Style
As a player, I would describe myself as a grinder and an all-court player with an attacking mindset. I like to build points, work my opponent down, and look for opportunities to move forward and finish points at the net.
My playing style influences the way I think about tennis, but I don’t believe every player should be taught to play exactly like me. Every player has different strengths, goals, athletic abilities, and personalities. My job is to help you build a game that works for you.
I usually start with the groundstrokes because they are such a fundamental part of tennis. Before worrying about complicated tactics, you need to feel comfortable controlling the ball and building consistency from the baseline. From there, I adjust my focus depending on the player. With juniors, I tend to spend more time developing solid technique and fundamentals. With adults and more experienced players, I often focus more on tactics, decision-making, and how to actually use your skills during points.
